This hybrid succulent, developed by Kelly Griffin, is known for its festive colors and compact, collector-friendly form.

Characteristics

  • Foliage: Dark green to blue-green leaves with prominent, rubbery red or hot pink teeth along the margins and red bumps down the middle.
  • Size: Compact, typically growing to 4–6" tall and 5–8" wide at maturity.
  • Flowers: Produces tubular coral to reddish-pink flowers on tall stems, typically blooming in spring.
  • Growth Habit: Grows in a compact, star-like rosette pattern and is a fast-growing hybrid compared to many other aloes.

Care Requirements

  • Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate full sun when properly acclimated, which helps maintain its vibrant red and blue coloration.
  • Watering: Drought-tolerant. Use the "soak and dry" method — water deeply but allow soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
  • Soil: A well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix is essential, often amended with perlite or pumice.
  • Hardiness: Hardy in USDA zones 9b–11b. Sensitive to frost — protect from freezing temperatures.
