Casa Norte – Variegated Columnar Clone

Casa Norte – Variegated is one of the rarest and most distinctive clones in our collection. This plant was sourced directly from Lima, Peru by Manuel Rama Terra (MT) on his 2024 trip, who writes:

"I got that one on my 2024 trip to Peru from a contact in Lima — a guy that sells plants in a market on the outskirts — who grows the variegated version of Casa Norte. He told me it was from the north province of Piura, and that's all I know about it."

We personally love the darker green and much lighter hue of variegation on this clone — it strikes a different vibe than most other variegated plants we've encountered. The contrast between brilliant golden-yellow sectors and deep, glaucous green, combined with the signature deep ribs and pronounced notches of the Casa Norte form, creates a specimen that is genuinely unlike anything else in cultivation.

Care Guide

• Light: Full sun to bright indirect light; 5–6+ hours daily.
• Water: Soak and dry — allow soil to dry completely between waterings.
• Soil: Fast-draining mineral cactus mix.
• Temperature: USDA Zones 9–11; protect from hard frost.
