The Huancabamba × Kimnach Variegated hybrid is an elite, multi-generational prize tailored for serious collectors of spectacular structural flora.
The maternal lineage originates from Huancabamba, a towering, frosty blue-green regional variety native to the high-altitude Andean foothills near the sacred lagoons of northern Peru.
The paternal influence stems from Kimnach (clone HBG 53196 / 2876D), famously collected on May 19, 1984, by botanist Myron Kimnach along the Cajamarca–Namora road in Peru. This legendary parent introduces thick, fat rounded ribs, a smooth skin texture, and neat, compact geometry.
The introduction of variegation in this cross produces spectacular, asymmetrical marbled patterning of brilliant pastel yellow and deep forest green across the ribs — a vibrant, hardy, and highly dynamic showpiece. Available as an 8–10" cutting and 1-gallon pot.
