The cactus cultivar scientifically known as Myrtillocactus geometrizans cv. 'Glorp' is a distinctive and sought-after specimen among cactus and succulent enthusiasts. This cultivar is a member of the Myrtillocactus geometrizans species, commonly referred to as the Bilberry Cactus, Blue Myrtle Cactus, or Blue Candle. The 'Glorp' variety is celebrated for its unusual and unpredictable growth patterns, often exhibiting monstrose or cristate formations.

Aesthetic and Growth

Unlike the typically straight, columnar growth of the standard Myrtillocactus geometrizans, the 'Glorp' cultivar is characterized by its lumpy, bumpy, and often contorted appearance. The name 'Glorp' itself is evocative of its irregular, almost melted form. The stem is a blue-green color typical of the species, with randomly spaced areoles from which spines emerge. These unique growth characteristics make each 'Glorp' specimen a one-of-a-kind living sculpture.
